OpenCity Weekly Review

Here’s our weekly review rounding up the best stories and ideas in public space from cities around the world. This week we bring you a bike friendly café in Zurich, a sidewalk swing that doubles as a musical instrument and a look at six incredible urban gardens.

  • A Bike-Through Café
The bike-friendly city of Zurich takes accommodating cyclist one spin further with the Velokafi. Bikers can stay seated while they enjoy a coffee with these custom made stands that feature a tabletop, a place to dock your bike and a foot rest. (Via GOOD)
  • Get in the Swing of Things
Montreal-based design firm Daily Tous Les Jours created a side-walk swing that transforms into a giant musical instrument. The installation is made up of 21 swings – each with their own musical note –  and only through cooperation of friends and strangers can a melody emerge. (Via Daily Tous Les Jours)
