If you’re in Montreal and haven’t yet checked out Impulse, this urban installation located at the Place des Festivals offers the opportunity to get in touch with your playful side in a harmonious and interactive winter playground.

Located across from Musée d’Art Contemporain de Montréal, Impulse has been attracting a lot of attention as the winning design of Luminotherapie; an annual design competition focused on the stimulation of creative public space projects.

Impulse is a collaborative project created by Toronto-based Lateral Office and Montreal-based CS Design with EGP Group. It combines seesaws, sound, and lights to create an ever-changing and glowing soundtrack, and serves as an excellent distraction from dropping temperatures. The installation stands out prominently upon a snow covered surface. Echoes of faint chimes, laughter, and the ‘thudding’ of the seesaws hitting the ground can be seen and heard from a distance, drawing in curious onlookers.

The installation runs from December 10th to January 31st of 2016, so be sure to stop by while it’s still around!
